What is Ledger® Live?
Ledger® Live is the official wallet management application for Ledger® hardware devices. Available as a Desktop app (Windows, macOS, Linux) and as a mobile App (iOS & Android), Ledger® Live lets you manage multiple crypto accounts, send/receive assets, install apps on your hardware device, and view portfolio balances — all while keeping private keys offline on your Ledger® device.
Download & Install — Desktop and Mobile
Always download Ledger® Live from the official Ledger® website. Choose Ledger Live Desktop for full device management and app installation. For on-the-go checks and simple transactions, use the Ledger Live App on mobile. Installers are available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android; follow device prompts and allow USB (or Bluetooth on supported devices) when pairing.
Login & Account Access
Ledger® Live doesn't store your private keys — your Ledger® hardware does. Logging into Ledger® Live usually means opening the app and unlocking your hardware wallet with its PIN, then confirming operations on the device. There is no universal password to reset in the app; recovery depends on your 24-word recovery phrase.
Troubleshooting Common Login & Connection Issues
- Ledger Login not working: ensure your device firmware is up to date and the Ledger® Live app is the latest version.
- Unable to login / Error connecting Ledger account: check USB/Bluetooth permissions, try a different cable or port, and disable VPNs or browser extensions that intercept USB.
- Ledger Live App not working: clear app cache on mobile, reinstall Ledger® Live, and reboot the phone.
- Can't verify Ledger Wallet: verify the device's genuine-ness by checking the device boot screen and using Ledger®'s official support pages for authentication steps.
- Ledger 2FA reset: Ledger® Live does not provide a classic 2FA tied to the app; any two-factor approaches are external services — follow provider-specific recovery.
- Ledger Account Recovery: recovery is performed on a new hardware device by entering the original 24-word recovery phrase — never share it or enter it into software that isn't verified by you.
When to Contact Ledger® Help Center
If you suspect device tampering, lost recovery phrase, or persistent errors after trying basic troubleshooting (different cable, updated firmware, reinstallation), contact the Ledger® Help Center through official channels. Do not share your recovery phrase with support — Ledger® staff never ask for it.
